RC #StandByYourTrans, Brighton Fringe 2015

May 16th, 2015

‘Big Girl’s Blouse’ by Kate O’Donnell was a compassionate and thought-provoking piece of theatre which showed at the Brighton Fringe on the 9th to 11th of May. Performing to a packed house, using humour and music, this was fringe theatre at it’s best and the Rainbow Chorus was there to support the show on all three nights.

The performance closed with the song ‘Stand by Your Trans’, with the Rainbow Chorus providing back-up vocals . It was received with smiles, applause and some tears. To the delight and surprise of the audience, members of the chorus hid off stage and joined Kate when the song began. Sopranos, altos, tenors and basses filled the stage in #StandByYourTrans t-shirts and closed the show on a high note. If you haven’t managed to catch Kate’s show, you can still do so this summer in other parts of the UK.  ‘Big Girl’s Blouse’ tells the story of a girl who was born a boy and became a woman.
